During WWII, several airplanes crashed in the area of the current province of Flevoland.

Many of these planes were found and salvaged during the reclamation of the polders.

A bike route takes you along different locations where these aircrafts were recovered.

Good to know: the nose of the silhouette points in the direction of the area where the plane crashed.

Route distance: approximately 40 kilometers.

The route starts from the parking lot at De Verbeelding and first takes you past the Vliegermonument (location: Kastanjelaan). This monument was unveiled on May 5, 2019.

The commemorative poles were placed by the Municipality of Zeewolde in memory of the fallen and for cultural-historical importance.
