The Hulkesteinse Bos is located in the former river basin of the Eem River. Clay, sand, and peat in the subsoil, together with the varied groundwater table, provide a rich and diverse vegetation. Go on a discovery tour via this cycling route, relax on the Laaksestrand beach, or sit and contemplate by the Laakse Slenk, the prehistoric river that has been re-excavated. Now that water is flowing through the trees again, various dragonfly species have been added to the forest.
