Discover Kitesurfing in Zeewolde
The Wolderwijd (one of the bordering lakes) is ideal for learning kite surfing. You learn kite surfing best in shallow water, so in that respect, the bordering lakes are ideal.
Unfortunately, kite surfing is not allowed on the Wolderwijd in Zeewolde. The reason is that it belongs to the Natura 2000 area. Kite surfing, because of the kite in the air, has a disruptive effect on (protected) bird species here.
Kite surfers can go to Strand Horst (province of Gelderland) on the opposite side of Zeewolde. The recreation area is easily accessible from the A28 motorway, exit Harderwijk-Zuid / Strand Horst (exit 11). From Zeewolde, the Horsterveer ferry sails directly to Strand Horst.
