The Pioneer's Path is a Long-Distance Hiking Trail (LAW) in the Netherlands. The route starts in Steenwijk and ends in Muiden (207 kilometers). The path is marked with white-red signs in both directions and delivers what the name promises. You walk right through Flevoland on the former bottom of the Zuiderzee, which has only been dry for half a century. The path consists of 11 stages, stages 8 to 10 run through the area of Zeewolde.

A journey through forests and marshes, interspersed with views over endless lowlands. The route runs along many unpaved paths, past fields, ditches, and grassy dikes. In the Kop van Overijssel, you can take a break in the picturesque village of Giethoorn. And then continue through the Noordoostpolder and along the Oostvaardersplassen to finally end at Muiderslot.

Stage 9: Zeewolde - Eemhof (20.2 kilometers)
