At the end of August 2019, the new lock, De Spieghel, was opened in the Havenkwartier. The lock has a difference in water level of 5.20 meters and provides access to the new waterway Blauwe Diamant (lock time approximately 30 minutes). Through the lock, at the back of the new residential area, boats can sail along the adjacent Polderwijk towards the Hoge Vaart. The lock is accessible for boats with a maximum draft of two meters. The bicycle bridge (near the tide gate) has a clearance height of 3.5 meters, just like the fixed bridges in the Blauwe Diamant waterway. Passage through the lock is free of charge.

The lock is operated from:

April 1 - May 31 from 09:00 to 20:00

June 1 - August 31 from 09:00 to 21:00

September 1 - September 30 from 09:00 to 20:00

The lock is operated 7 days a week. The last possible passage is at 19:30 (during the summer months it is possible until 20:30).
