In the Silent Core of the Horsterwold, you are allowed to wander off the beaten path. This gives you the best chance of encountering deer, foxes, Konik horses, and other wildlife. The route, approximately eight kilometers long, is marked.

The route starts at the parking lot on Flediteweg, then follows along the Groenewoudse ditch to the south before turning towards Bingelweg, the former management road. From here, you continue north. You then pass through the slenk area and the Grote Weide before reaching the Horsterberg. From there, the route goes through the forest towards the east, back to the starting point.

Please note: It is advisable to wear boots during wet periods. It is also wise to check for ticks afterwards.
