You sail across the Blue Diamond and the Hoge Vaart, the largest canals that run through the Horsterwold and Flevoland. Along the way, you have a chance to encounter a beaver, otter, or kingfisher, but you will definitely see many different waterfowl. The guide from Staatsbosbeheer can tell you more about it.

Pram tour Hoge Vaart-Horsterwold

These days, the fair sets up again at the event site on Horsterweg in Zeewolde.

At the fair, there is something for everyone. From riding the carousel to testing your luck at the claw machines. Of course, the traditional favorite, bumper cars, are also present this year. And let's not forget the delicious treats, like the donut stand and the stall with colorful candy canes.

The fair is open daily from 1:30 pm to 12:00 am.

TIP: Sunday is a real family day with attractive discounts.

Join us in searching for the wild horses and with some luck, spotting the roe deer and fallow deer of this area. The guide will tell you about the lives of these animals and their role in the landscape. Along the way, you will listen to the many birds that benefit from this semi-open forest landscape. Early morning dew walks: an experience for early birds

Discover the magic of the early morning with dew walking, an activity specially designed for the early birds among us. Join the experienced guides of IVN Zeewolde and explore the enchanting nature of Zeewolde in the early morning hours. As the first sun rays break through and the world wakes up, you will be immersed in the serene silence and the beautiful colors and scents of the burgeoning nature. The expert guides are happy to share their knowledge about the flora and fauna of this special area.

Participation in this unique experience is only six euros for non-members and three euros for members of IVN Zeewolde and children up to 12 years old.

'Early morning walk'

Discover nature during the monthly walks of IVN Zeewolde!

On the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 10.00 am, there is a relaxed walk of approximately three kilometers, which lasts about an hour. Along the way, time is taken to admire the diversity of nature.

Afterwards, there is a cup of coffee or tea for the participants at the Roode Schuur (also the starting location), where a nature topic is briefly discussed, such as "how does the mole live?" or "what do mushrooms actually do in the forest?".

How fun is this, trunk sale at the event ground.

A trunk market, originally an English phenomenon, shows similarities with the well-known flea markets in the Netherlands. While traditional markets use stalls, at the trunk market second-hand items are sold directly from the trunk of cars. Second-hand and surplus items are sold from the trunk, or from a blanket or small table in front of the car.

At the trunk market, all sorts of things are for sale. Various knick-knacks, antiques, curios, toys, vintage clothing, etc.

These free-access markets have become a well-established tradition in Zeewolde and attract many visitors.

ENJOYMENT IN PARTICIPATION IS PARAMOUNT!
Fun and participation. That's what it's all about at the Mini Marathon. As a reward, every finisher receives a medal. And what about that cool bib number? If you register on time, your name will even be on it. With the help of local entrepreneurs, the bib number also comes with various extras, such as a free glass of lemonade or a colored streak at the hairdresser's.

FOR EVERYONE
Depending on your age, you can run 1.1km, 2.1km, or 4.2km, divided into different price categories. Did you know that you can also run the Mini Marathon as a relay? Together with a friend or, for example, with your father or mother. Everyone participates, whether running, walking, or rolling!

COMBINATION WITH 'EXPERIENCE PURE'
The Mini Marathon Zeewolde 2023 is organized in combination with 'Experience Pure', an event by Pure Zeewolde. In addition to the start and finish of the Mini Marathon, on May 27th, the Kerkplein will be filled with activities focused on the opening of the new recreational season. In short: there is plenty to experience!

Mini Marathon

During this Pentecost weekend, two autocross races will be held, with the first one taking place this Saturday, the Boeren Pitstop Autocross. The event will be held near the Boeren Pitstop, and the route to the off-road track is marked with arrows.

The races will start at 11:00 a.m. and will kick off with the mini buggies class, for participants aged 6-12 years. They will be driving in similar vehicles specially designed for autocross. This race counts towards the championship, the "Dutch Mini Buggy Cup 2024."

But that's not all! Other classes, including modified street cars and fast Beetles, will also compete against each other. Expect spectacular action in the Tricycle class, where regular cars have been converted with only one rear wheel, creating a real challenge to control them and guaranteed excitement.

And to top it off, the Duo Sierras will arrive in Zeewolde. These special cars require teamwork, as they are modified to be operated by two people: one steers while the other shifts and operates the pedals.

Children under 12 years old have free entry when accompanied by an adult, and for everyone aged 12 and above, the entry fee is only 10 euros per person. Don't miss this spectacle!

Good to know! You don't have to worry about parking, as there is plenty of free parking available. Additionally, there will be sufficient catering to keep you full of energy and enjoying this cozy day in the rural area of Zeewolde.

Farmers Pitstop Autocross

On this second day of Pentecost, Zeewolde is in the spotlight for the second autocross, the Zeebodem Autocross. An exciting event at the Boeren Pitstop in the rural area of Zeewolde (indicated by arrows on the terrain).

Different classes will compete today, including the Regional Class, the Standard KNAF Class, and the Touring Cars. Young drivers can also compete in the Junior Class and the Junior Buggies. Expect a lot of action in the Sprint Classes, where custom-made cars with powerful engines steal the show. Both two-wheel and four-wheel drive Sprinters will race in separate groups.

You don't have to worry about parking, as there is plenty of free parking available. Additionally, there will be an abundance of catering to keep you energized and enjoying this fun day to the fullest.

Seabed Autocross

Once a year, the beach of Zeewolde transforms into a true festival palace. Thousands of people come together and enjoy a weekend full of famous artists, great music, cold drinks, and delicious food trucks.

On May 24th & 25th, it's time for the coziest beach festival of Zeewolde and the surrounding area. Make sure to be there and get your ticket(s) in time to prevent disappointment.

This Wednesday, the Music Festival tent will be on a pontoon in the Aanloophaven, at Raadhuisplein in Zeewolde, with a variety of Dutch artists. This marks the first time that the Music Festival, presented by Jan Smit, is taking place in the province of Flevoland. The lineup will be announced later.

The program of the free event starts at 7:30 pm. But beware: FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!

Living fairy tale

During the annual Land Art Weekend, the collection of land art in Flevoland is being highlighted.

During this weekend, between 11:00 and 17:00, there will be a guide at each location who can enthusiastically talk about the artwork and answer all your questions. Additionally, performances and activities are organized at various locations. The art objects to be visited in Zeewolde are: Aardzee by Piet Slegers and Sea Level by Richard Serra.

N.B.: The program of the Land Art Weekend 2024 will be announced at a later date in spring on the website of Land Art Flevoland.

Land Art weekend

The Avondvierdaagse Zeewolde promises to be an unforgettable edition again. The atmosphere is always lively, filled with excitement and healthy competition as participants walk through the beautiful surroundings of Zeewolde. Each evening, routes are mapped out through the village, the woods, and the center.

On the final day, the walkers experience a highlight when they arrive in the center at the Kerkplein. Here they are welcomed by a crowd of supporters who cheer them on as they cover the final meters. There is a cozy atmosphere, with family members ready with flowers and congratulations for the runners.

Four Days Marches

Tom van der Weerd, radio DJ at Qmusic, will open the doors of his own party palace this Saturday in the party tent at the event site on the Horsterplein in Zeewolde.

Especially for this edition celebrating the 40th anniversary of Zeewolde, Tom has invited some friends to throw a great party. The lineup is as follows: Ziggy, MC Don Espresso, Tom van der Weerd, and the evening will be closed with a performance by Jody Bernal.

Tom's Party Palace

The Omloop Flevoland is a cycling event covering various distances: 25 km, 65 km, 95 km, 125 km, or 175 km. The diverse routes are fully signposted and showcase the versatility of the province of Flevoland.

The 65, 95, and 125 km routes also pass through Zeewolde. Along quiet roads and cycle paths, the route goes via the Vogelweg and the Grote Trap towards Zeewolde, where part of the Horsterwold forest is cycled through. Take a break at Resort De Parel and enjoy the natural beauty around you.

Participation cost: six euros.

'Round Flevoland'

The Zeewolde Endurance is a sport event divided over two days. Various triathlon distances are offered for different target groups.
On Friday, June 28, the "Triathlon for All" will kick off, consisting of 30 minutes of swimming, 25 km of cycling, and 5 km of walking. Everyone can participate!
In the afternoon, the Junior Challenge for students will take place. In between these two triathlons, the military, police, and firefighters will start their own race.

On Saturday, June 29, there will be the Sprint, the Standard distance, and the Middle distance that everyone can sign up for, both recreational and advanced athletes.

Zeewolde Endurance

The royal yacht Piet Hein will be moored in the Harbor of Zeewolde during the Harbor Days Zeewolde (weekend of July 12). You will not only have the opportunity to admire the ship docked at the quay but also to take a trip on this majestic vessel.

The Piet Hein was the yacht of former Queen Juliana and was named after the 17th-century Dutch navigator Piet Hein. The 31-meter-long ship was presented in 1937 as a national gift to the then Crown Princess Juliana and her husband Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld. The ship still exudes royal charm to this day.

Visitors to the Harbor Days now have the opportunity to sail 'royally' on Thursday, July 11, Friday, July 12, or Sunday, July 14. Two cruises are scheduled per day: from 10:30-12:30 and from 14:00-16:00. Cost: 18 euros per person (max 30 passengers per trip).

With a refreshing drink in one hand and a bucket of popcorn in the other, you are ready for the movie that unfolds on the big screen in front of you. It sounds like a perfect setting, doesn't it? It's an experience you don't want to miss, and luckily, you don't have to!

This Friday night, we invite you to experience the BeachBios in Zeewolde. You will hear about the movie playing there in due time.

The first Saturday of September is once again all about cows in Zeewolde. This year we celebrate the 34th edition of this beloved event, taking place in the center of Zeewolde. "Zeewolde bij de Pinken" is one of the most cherished events in Zeewolde and perhaps the most special day of the year.

It's a real cattle show where the animals are judged by an experienced jury. This jury assesses the calves, heifers, and cows. True enthusiasts can come and watch from as early as 06:00, when the cows are brought in and washed. The actual judging and showing starts at 09:00. On this day, there are plenty of fun (children's) activities to enjoy in the square, and there is a Pinken market in the center.

Zeewolde on the ball

Along the sailing route, you will find four cozy party tents today where local talents from Zeewolde and the surrounding areas perform, from orchestras to singers. While you peacefully float on your own boat or as a guest on someone else's, you can enjoy the music.

In the locks, you will be taken back to Zeewolde's pioneering days with fascinating stories, and along the way, you can admire the impressive floating bridge, built by Jan Wandelaar's scouts.

A stopover at Tulpeiland at "Keet de Magneet" offers the perfect opportunity to relax with a delightful cup of coffee, tea, or another refreshing drink, accompanied by a small snack from the food truck. For the young adventurers, there is a large bouncy castle available, while older visitors can enjoy an afternoon rowing demonstration by the Amenophis rowing club.

In short, there is something for everyone along the sailing route!

Blue Diamond Music Route

This weekend, the 25th edition of the hiking event "Van Z tot Z" will start again, a unique long-distance walking tour in Zeewolde where participants can choose between various distances.

A bit of history. The "Van Z tot Z" was founded in 1996 by Erik Wallenburg. Over the years, the event has evolved into what it is today with a total of five distances.

This anniversary year offers a unique opportunity for all residents to participate in the special 80 or 100-kilometer route. In addition to the usual 110-kilometer route, which remains the favorite among participants, this year we are also introducing a night and day route of 55 kilometers. For those who prefer shorter distances, there are also options with an 80 or 25-kilometer route.

And for those who want to share the challenge, there is the option of the relay race. By dividing the 110 kilometers into four sections of 'only' 27.5 kilometers each with three others, the distance becomes manageable and creates a unique team experience. Join in and experience this anniversary year in a special way! Just remember to register in advance.

The festivities at the Raadhuisplein near the Aanloophaven will start at 13.00 o'clock.

Sinterklaas arrival

Experience the magic of the holidays in Zeewolde during the Lights Tour on this Friday evening!

Nearly ninety illuminated tractors drive through Zeewolde that evening, creating a fairytale scene. Enjoy the beautiful illuminated route that passes through the main roads of the various neighborhoods in Zeewolde.

The organization is once again led by Puur Zeewolde this year in collaboration with a group of young farmers from Flevoland.

Festival of Lights

Also non-skaters are taken into account, because a pavilion with a terrace will be placed alongside the ice rink, from which parents and grandparents can watch the children skating while enjoying hot chocolate and many other treats.

Get in the Christmas spirit and visit the Christmas Festival in the center of Zeewolde today. Experience the Christmas atmosphere and get inspired at the cozy Christmas market of Winkelhaven Zeewolde, with the ice rink as a winter backdrop.
