Discover nature during the monthly walks of IVN Zeewolde!

On the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 10.00 am, there is a relaxed walk of approximately three kilometers, which lasts about an hour. Along the way, time is taken to admire the diversity of nature.

Afterwards, there is a cup of coffee or tea for the participants at the Roode Schuur (also the starting location), where a nature topic is briefly discussed, such as "how does the mole live?" or "what do mushrooms actually do in the forest?".

Everyone is welcome!
Costs: €1.50 for IVN Zeewolde members and €2.50 for non-members.

Storytelling Performance - Jacobus Wieman

Mouse lands with a thud on a shelf in the bookcase, but he is not just any mouse. He goes on an adventure through the four elements - earth, air, water, and fire - and searches for the perfect place to call home. Along the way, he meets new friends, like mole and the fire salamander, and experiences exciting and funny adventures.

With beautiful puppetry, a surprising set, and cheerful music, this is a performance you don't want to miss! Suitable for children aged three and up, but also enjoyable for adults.

Cost: five euros per ticket (including a glass of lemonade or a cup of tea/coffee upon arrival).
The performance is made possible thanks to the Municipality of Zeewolde, the VSBfonds, and De Verbeelding.

Simac Ladies Tour 2024 "The Flevoland Stage"

Flevoland is the heart of international women's cycling on this day. This means attention from national and international media. And this means that millions of viewers will see our beautiful province.

Start and finish.
The start and finish of the race take place in Zeewolde, providing a spectacular day full of cycling fun. The event unfolds throughout the day on Horsterweg in Zeewolde, near VV Zeewolde, where the riders depart after the team presentation. This is the perfect moment to see the top female cyclists from the Tour de Femmes up close, cheer for them before they start their race, and as they finish. Around the start and finish in Zeewolde, there is a festive atmosphere, where a complete VIP village emerges.

Of course, we will build a VIP village where you can enjoy the tastiest dishes and the most beautiful and delicious culinary treats in a cozy French atmosphere. All delicious, lovingly prepared and served in collaboration with Van der Valk Lelystad. And because the race is on a Thursday, you can stay after the award ceremony. Once the riders head back to the hotel, the Thursday afternoon drinks continue in the VIP village.

This Saturday is the day, World Egg Day 2024 is celebrated at Larei, amongst others! They are opening their doors for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look. Curious about how an egg from the chicken ends up on the shelf or in the vending machine? Or how a barn looks from the inside? Discover during this open day what makes a Better Life 1-star egg so special.

During the visit, they are happy to answer all your questions while enjoying a cup of coffee or lemonade. Moreover, they will show you how they make their homemade advocaat – and of course, you can also taste it!

Since 1996, World Egg Day has been celebrated annually on the second Friday in October. In 2024, on October 11, countries from all over the world come together to celebrate the egg in various ways. World Egg Day - Open Day Larei

During "The week of our food," come take a look at and around the yard at Burger Farm Oosterwold! On the farm, you will find various businesses and initiatives. Cows from Bioboerderij Oosterwold roam the grounds, and there are vegetables from the food collective VoedSaam. From 2025, Tuinderij Groene Pluk will also be joining. Circular entrepreneurs like the Stadsjutters create beautiful things from recycled materials in a former cowshed, Almeerse Wolunie processes sheep's wool into wonderful products, and there is a farm shop featuring a variety of local and Flevoland products.

The tour starts this Saturday at 11.00, but you can also explore the farm at your own pace with the self-guided tour along various information boards. There is plenty to experience at various businesses, and in the shop, you can enjoy tastings.

Experience Autumn with IVN Zeewolde: Mushroom Festival!

Autumn has arrived, and that means... mushrooms! Come this Sunday to IVN Zeewolde for a creative afternoon full of autumn fun.

Doors of De Roode Schuur will be open from 1:00 PM, ready for a cozy and educational afternoon. Children can get creative with crafting activities centered around the theme of mushrooms and gnomes. Additionally, they can join an exciting gnome hunt around the grounds of De Roode Schuur!

Activities will begin at 1:30 PM and there is plenty to enjoy. In the exhibition space, you can admire taxidermy animals, view nature photographs, and appreciate a changing nature table. For children, there are interactive games that will immerse them in the wonders of nature.

Of course, there will be coffee, tea, and lemonade with treats for the little ones for everyone. No registration is required this time.

Mushroom festival

Experience the rutting season of the fallow deer in the Horsterwold

From mid-October to mid-November, you can experience the rutting season of the fallow deer in the Horsterwold. The males impress the females with their impressive antlers and a unique bellowing sound. They are most active at dusk.

Join the forest ranger of Staatsbosbeheer to the Stille Kern to see these beautiful animals in action. After the walk, warm up with a bowl of soup and fresh bread.
Cost: 32.50 euros(children up to 12 years old: 22.50 euros). This excursion is suitable for children from 10 years old.

The four seasons by Vivaldi are well-known, in which he lets you feel the temperature, wind, and precipitation of the season through his music. Another great master, perhaps inspired by this, clearly lets you hear whether it's morning, afternoon, or evening. This was Joseph Haydn with his Times of Day Symphonies, the first commission from his new boss, Count Esterházy. He had to immediately show what he was capable of as a composer and fully utilized the virtuosity of Esterházy's top musicians, both the string and wind players!

Another virtuoso was the violinist Gaetano Brunetti. 24 years after Haydn, Mozart, at the age of 19, wrote his violin concerto no. 3 in G for him. He borrowed the theme from his own opera "Il ré pastore", the ink of which was still fresh. This charming concerto radiates the joy of life and energy of the young Mozart who would conquer the world with his music.

Nearly ninety illuminated tractors drive through Zeewolde that evening, creating a fairytale scene. Enjoy the beautiful illuminated route that passes through the main roads of the various neighborhoods in Zeewolde.

The organization is once again led by Puur Zeewolde this year in collaboration with a group of young farmers from Flevoland.
