If you're super excited about learning to sail, DeZeilschool in Zeewolde is the place to be. The sailing school offers sailing camps in the May, summer, and autumn holidays for children between 7 and 18 years old. A sailing week you will never forget, as there is a lot to experience. Come make new friends, play cool (evening) games, and of course, learn to sail well! Every sailing week is one big party!

In addition to the sailing camps, we also offer individual days for both youth and adults to learn how to sail, for instance, in one of our polyvalks.

DeZeilschool is located on the grounds of Vakantiepark RCN Zeewolde. Here they have a small building, close to the beach and the harbor. So you're quickly at the boats to enjoy the water. The perfect place to enjoy and be on and around the water!

The Harderbos is young but already looks very mature. In 1968, the first poplars were planted here, a pioneering species that grows quickly. Meanwhile, it has become a diverse forest with trees of all kinds and ages mixed together. Fallen trees are allowed to remain, providing food and shelter for insects, mushrooms, birds, and many other animals. In the twilight, you may encounter roe deer, foxes, or even spot beavers (their presence betrayed by gnawed tree trunks along the water's edge). For the grazing of this area, the Red Geuze cattle breed and Konik horses are used.

Halfway through the forest, a sign points the way to Hans & Grietjes Pancake House and Playground. This location is completely decorated in the style of the fairy tale of the same name. Be sure to take a look!

Harderbos

Nature reserve

Since 1997, Natuurmonumenten has been taking care of the nature in the Harderbroek. It is an extensive nature reserve with open water and reed beds. Wading birds such as ruffs, green sandpipers, godwits, and spoonbills know how to find this bird paradise. The great egret also finds food and shelter here. Along the way, we will surely hear the bearded tits, reed warblers, and water rails calling. Via a path that cuts through the field, you can walk to the bird observation spot. There, you can enjoy a beautiful view and countless birds.

Harderbos, Harderbroek, and Kievitslanden together form the most varied and mature nature reserve in Flevoland. With young primeval forest, rugged marshes, bird-rich lakes, and grasslands.

Welcome to Kaasboerderij Bennesse, the place for authentic farmer's cheese from Flevoland! Located on Ossenkampweg in Zeewolde, here you will find not only a dairy farm and artisan cheese dairy, but also a farm shop where you can taste and buy our delicious cheese. Additionally, we offer a horse boarding facility for enthusiasts.

Did you know that approximately 10 liters of milk are needed to make one kilogram of (Gouda) cheese! The cheese making process starts early in the morning, right after milking the cows in the milking parlor. The morning milk is still warm when it's poured into the cheese tub of up to 1000 liters - it can't get any fresher than that! Various ingredients are then added, such as starter culture and rennet. The starter culture gives the cheese its delicious taste and ensures a longer shelf life, while the rennet causes the solid components of the milk to clump together into cheese.

Local products

The Smits family has been growing apples since 1968. In 1982, they decided to move to Zeewolde to continue apple cultivation. They have also been growing pears for over 10 years and strawberries for over 15 years. This fruit cultivation company covers 17 hectares.

In addition, they sell a wide range of local products in the farm shop, such as home-grown apples, pears, strawberries, and juices. Furthermore, the farm shop offers as many products from the surrounding area as possible, such as potatoes, onions, eggs, dairy products, meat, cheese, and much more.

Making immutable things movable, taking them apart into pieces, searching for infinitely many new arrangements. These are design processes that are inherent in the work of Carel Visser. The motif of slicing into slices lies at the basis of this sculpture. It is constructed from one long steel beam connected to six equal pieces. If the loose blocks were to be linked together, they would be equal in length and weight to the beam.

Throughout history, murals have been used to tell stories, decorate, express dissatisfaction, and call upon the reader. The principles for the artist are encapsulated in the title of the work. Here, he blends history and painting together. He refers to the rise of abstract art in Russia with the red cross-shaped motifs. On the other hand, the style, symbols, and figures on the fresco are derived from Russian communist propaganda tools from the beginning of the previous century.

An enclosed garden has traditionally been a place that excludes wild nature. This creates a kind of outdoor room. Within the fence, the original landscape is cultivated and transformed into an area controlled by humans. In herman de vries' Sanctuary, the roles are reversed. Here, nature can take its course. The outside world must be content with a glimpse through the gilded gate into a round earthen wall covered with a dense hedge of roses.

The work of Han Janselijn was placed in 1990. The three little towers originally referred to the three towers of villages around Fort Asperen (North Brabant), but now they refer to the towers of Zeewolde. This artwork has various names in common parlance, from the three pencils to the little castle.

Artist: Evert Strobos.
Strobos' works often consist of monumental "symbols" that mark a place in the landscape. The seven elements that Strobos placed in Zeewolde are outlined as silhouettes against the sky. Due to their size, they occupy a large area and seem to slice through space with their shape. Looking at the group of sculptures, the association with prehistoric monuments is not strange.

The Laakse beach is the most peaceful beach in Zeewolde. It actually consists of several smaller beaches that are separated by reed fields. A portion of the Laakse beach is reserved for naturists.

Escape room Zeewolde provides an experience with this group activity (2 to 6 people) that seems to fly by. By working together, finding clues, and thinking 'out of the box', the story is unraveled. Do you dare to take on the challenge? The escape room is located on the Stal Hulkesteijn premises on Wielseweg, allowing you to combine this activity with, for example, carriage rides in the forest.

To get to the bird-watching hut, you walk about a kilometer and a half along the Boot Path. The path starts at the parking lot of Natuurmonumenten on Ganzenpad. The route is marked with white and leads to an observation hill.
Bring binoculars because from here you have a view of beautiful birds, such as bittern, reed warbler, and bearded tit. The round trip walk is about 3 kilometers long. The path mostly goes through the new part of the nature reserve. It also passes through the older forest section. There, the path winds along moss-covered trees, some of which are giants that have fallen over.

On October 25, 1967, the last piece of dike was closed, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Juliana. 
At this location on the Zeewolderdijk, a literary granite stone was unveiled on July 25, 1996. Five flat plates, varying in height and width. The space between the plates is equal to the thickness between the plates. On the front and smallest plate, a poem by Margo Minco is engraved.

H.S.V. "Ons Stekkie" is the local fishing association in Zeewolde.
Contractually, it has been established with the municipality of Zeewolde that H.S.V. "Ons Stekkie" has the right to fish in the village canals, the harbor, Harderhaven, and the waters in Trekkersveld and Horsterparc. Therefore, you need a permit to fish here. The fishing permits are available at De Winkeltjes, Tropica Dierenspeciaalzaak, and the Bruna in Zeewolde. Or through our website.

Fun fact: Children under the age of 14 (as of January 1st) can become members of the fishing association "Ons Stekkie" for free. With this membership, they are allowed to fish throughout Zeewolde.

This cycling route runs along the Nuldernauw and the Wolderwijd, the border lakes between Zeewolde, Harderwijk, Ermelo, Putten and Nijkerk. During this bike ride, you will encounter beautiful panoramic views of the bird-rich lakes. The route starts in Zeewolde with its beautiful deciduous forests and a nice waterfront. The complete route is 45 km long, but can be halved by taking the Horsterveer to Zeewolde at Strand Horst.

Zeewolde has an extensive network of approximately 80 kilometers of horse riding and carriage paths. This route takes you along the most beautiful spots and attractions, obstacles and rest points in the Horsterwold.

Please note: - You ride at your own risk, - Take into account that weather conditions and (forest) work can affect the accessibility of the paths, - The horse must be accustomed to traffic as occasionally you will have to cross roads.- In some places, horse riding/carriage paths and mountain bike paths converge, so be aware of this.
